School Student Council

Our School Council consists of 10 councillors, who have been voted for by their class mates. Miss Singh is the link teacher and she meets regularly with the council. The council is given various jobs throughout the year, such as signing the Anti-Bullying Charter. The Council is also responsible for making sure that all children have a say in the way the school is run.

Some of our councilors are also members of the WEC Pupil Council, which is made up of representatives from all schools in South Reading.

New Christ Church Primary School Anti-Bullying Policy

We think that bullying is something where you physically or emotionally hurt someone else again and again.

Having arguments with friends is NOT necessarily bullying.

Some examples of bullying:

  • Kicking, punching and fighting
  • Peer pressure – ganging up on people
  • Stealing
  • Name calling
  • Spreading rumours
  • Teasing people

Bullying can make you feel:

  • Unwanted
  • Left out
  • Distraught
  • Lonely and not knowing what to do
  • Different and out of place
  • Depressed
  • Like you don‛t want to come to school

If you think you are being bullied, you should:

  • Tell an adult – your mum, dad, family, teachers, Head Teacher
  • Express your feeling

If you are being bullied, the school will:

  • Talk to you
  • Listen to you
  • Try to help stop the bullying
  • Help you at playtimes
  • Tell your parents

We think there isn't much bullying in our school, because we all try to care and trust one another.
