Parking outside school
I have been informed of a number of ‘near misses’ involving cars and children at the end of the school day, and this issue appears to be getting worse. It seems that when cars are reversing back up Milman Road that drivers are not looking carefully enough and have got very close to children who are leaving school via the gate.
Would all parents who drive ensure that they do not park on the yellow zig-zag lines outside the school gate – these lines are there for the safety of our children and I find it incredible that any driver would be so selfish as to jeopardise that safety – to put convenience before safety horrifies me.
Everyone has a shared responsibility for the safety of children – please ensure you do your bit. If this problem continues, then I will have no hesitation in contacting the police and asking for their help in resolving the problem. Thank you to all those parents who do act safely and in the best interests of all children.
